For Dharma Practitioners
A few short days to reconnect with nature, stillness and deepen your Buddhist meditation practice
We will be taking a few days in the beautiful Welsh countryside, away from the bustle of daily life to deepen our Buddhist meditation practice under the skillful guidance of His Holiness Gangri Karma Rinpoche.
This is a unique opportunity for Buddhist practitioners of any Tibetan Buddhist lineage, to come together to interact with and experience the stillness of an accomplished Tibetan Buddhism meditation master. His Holiness will answer questions and direct you in your meditation practice.
This will be also a unique opportunity to unplug your daily lives from distractions and dedicate to some special time to deepen your practice. We will be working on calm-abiding meditations, Pujas, chanting, campfire and other activities.
We hope that when you leave the retreat, you and your practice, will have deepened and been recharged.
Location- Gower, in Wales
This will take place on a piece of land that Gower in Wales, is a delightful background and base in which to enjoy these restorative practices. We will stay in a farmhouse situated on private land, hidden amongst rolling hills, complete with its own peaceful lake. During the breaks you will be taken by local guides on walks to explore and take in the picturesque and expansive views across the “Gower peninsula” - the first protected area of Natural Outstanding Beauty in the UK, with its beautiful coastline and local beaches and which have often been named "Britain's Best View" in the broadsheet newspapers.
Meals
We will be providing healthy and scrumptious vegetarian food during the retreat.
You may have heard of the benefits of having intermittent fasting. Such a fasting practice is to reduce the attachment (craving) to food and bring benefits to your health in the long run So why not give it a try to challenge yourself by eating only two meals rather than three meals a day during the retreat? This is a helpful exploration exercise which can be applied to help manage and reduce other forms of attachment.
Accommodation
There are different choices which include private rooms, shared rooms, camping or you may prefer to book a Hotel or B& B.
We recommend that couples stay in separate rooms at retreat centre.
Travel arrangements
You can book a train from London Paddington to Swansea, which takes around 2.5 - 3.5 hours. You can also book a coach which will cost around £10 each way, where the journey will take around 5 hours. We advise you book your ticket in advance.
